Turn Turn Turn – Intimate Acoustic Set
Three seasoned veterans. One small stage.
Turn Turn Turn brought together Adam Levy (The Honeydogs), Barb Brynstad (formerly of Willie Wisely), and Savanna Smith (Trampled By Turtles) for an acoustic set that leaned heavily into songwriting and musicianship.
This wasn’t a loud night. It was a listening night.
The harmonies were the centerpiece. Three distinct voices blending in a way only experienced musicians can pull off. There’s a restraint that comes with that level of experience — no one overplays, no one oversings. Space is allowed to exist between notes.
The songs were strong. The playing was stronger.
From a photography standpoint, though, it was a challenge. Seated behind music stands, in a room with tables stretching across the front of the stage, finding clean angles wasn’t easy. The stands created visual barriers, and the low seated posture limited movement and variation.
But sometimes the job is adapting.
And even seated, even partially hidden behind stands, the musicianship cut through. Subtle glances between players. Small smiles mid-harmony. Fingers moving with effortless confidence across fretboards.
It was a quiet kind of power.
