Vice Chair at the Green Room
Vice Chair was the band that got me in the room for New Band Night at the Green Room, and they made the most of the opportunity. The Minneapolis-based power duo—bass and guitar, with both members splitting vocal duties—delivered a tight, driving set that filled the space without feeling thin.
At one point it I overheard that the band previously had a drummer, but the current setup leans on a laptop to push the set forward with heavy, deliberate drum tracks. Rather than feeling like a workaround, it gave the performance a controlled, almost mechanical pulse that kept everything locked in.
The music itself was solid, but what really set Vice Chair apart was their stage presence. There was a clear commitment to character and performance that went beyond simply playing the songs, something that comes through especially in the photo gallery from the night.
The Green Room was in top form—great lighting, a good crowd, and the disco ball casting light across the room in a way that made it hard not to get pulled into the vibe. Visually and sonically, Vice Chair leaned into the moment, and the result was a performance that felt intentional and memorable.
