Veterans Day Ceremony at the St. Cloud VA
St. Cloud VA Medical Center | Veterans Day
Veterans Day at the St. Cloud VA was both a solemn and deeply meaningful event this year, bringing together veterans, families, and staff for a ceremony of remembrance and respect.
The ceremony was held inside the VA chapel, which quickly filled with veterans from across the facility. Because the chapel is directly connected to the medical center, attendance was incredible. Veterans arrived in large numbers—many in wheelchairs—and the room was soon filled beyond capacity. At one point, chairs had to be removed simply to make room for the growing number of wheelchairs so everyone could attend and be part of the moment.
The program began with the presentation of colors by an honor guard, setting a tone of respect and reflection for the ceremony. The quiet reverence in the room made it clear that this day meant something deeply personal to the many veterans gathered there.
One of the most powerful moments of the event was a Medal of Honor presentation ceremony. The recognition served as a reminder of the extraordinary bravery and sacrifice that defines so many members of the armed forces. In a room filled with veterans representing different eras of service, the moment carried an added weight and significance.
Throughout the ceremony there was a sense of shared history in the room—stories of service, sacrifice, and camaraderie that connect veterans across generations. While the day carried a somber tone of remembrance, it was equally a celebration of those who served and the enduring spirit that brings the veteran community together.
It was truly an honor to be present and document the event.
